Jim on Jobs/Taxes/Economy:
-Supports legislation that will give incentives for job creation

Jim on Education:
-Will ensure that teachers and students have the resources they need to be successful
-Supports legislation to require that 90% of all education dollars be spent in the classroom
-Voted to expand the HOPE scholarship so more students can attend college
-Sponsored legislation to provide over $7 million for K-12 school construction in Rutherford, Bedford, and Moore Counties
-Works to ensure that students are prepared for college and the workplace

Jim on Illegal Immigration:
-Sponsored legislation to ban state services for illegal immigrants
-Sponsored legislation to eliminate drivers’ certificates for illegal immigrants
-Sponsored legislation to punish employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants
-Voted to require that drivers license tests be given in English only
-Will enforce the immigration laws that are on the books

Jim on Tennessee Values:
-Believes in traditional marriage between one man and one woman
-Fights for the rights of unborn children and is a co-sponsor of SJR 127
-Has voted to protect our 2nd Amendment rights
-Believes in hard work and lives by the principle of “service above self”
-Will continue to work with other elected officials to get things done for the 16th District

Jim on Public Safety:
-Sponsored legislation to get tough on child sex offenders
-Voted for the “Crooks with Guns” legislation that requires mandatory sentences for the most violent offenders
-Voted to give law enforcement the resources they need to keep our neighborhoods safe

Jim on Health Care:
-Works to ensure that every Tennessean has access to affordable, quality healthcare
-Sponsored legislation that allows small businesses to pool together to qualify for group health insurance programs
-Supports legislation to expand health savings accounts
-Sponsored long term care legislation that gives seniors more flexibility so they can stay in their own home and not be forced into a nursing home
-To help lower childhood obesity rates, Jim supports legislation that will encourage healthy living
-Believes that we need to expand wellness programs
