Tracy eclipses $325,000 raised for 2008 campaign for State Senate

(Murfreesboro, TN) State Senator Jim Tracy today announced that he has raised $326,245 in his bid for the State Senate and has $251,195.83 cash-on-hand as of June 30, 2008. These fundraising numbers reflect Sen. Tracy’s wide support among Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.

“I am humbled by the tremendous support people have shown me,” Tracy said. “When people ask me for help, I don’t ask them whether they are a Republican or Democrat. Tennesseans expect their elected officials to do all they can to help all residents, not just a select few. That’s why I have worked across party lines to get results for the 16th District.”

Tracy also enjoys significant support from all regions of the district and many professions.

“People from all walks of life, doctors, lawyers, teachers, dentists, truckers, public officials, bankers, small business owners, financial advisors, farmers, realtors, engineers, pharmacists, and countless others, contributed to my campaign and I am proud to have their support, Tracy said. “This is a very large district and I am blessed to have the support of citizens from Lynchburg to La Vergne, Flat Creek to Milton, and everywhere in between.”

“But this campaign will not be won on dollars and cents, rather by votes of the people of Rutherford, Bedford, and Moore Counties,” Tracy said. “That’s why my campaign has knocked on over 2,500 doors since July 4th. Just like I did in 2004, I am taking my campaign to the doorsteps of the voters in this district.”

The 16th Senatorial District includes most of Rutherford County and all of Bedford and Moore County. Tracy is uncontested in the Republican primary and will face the winner of a contested primary between Democrats Jean Anne Rogers and Dee Butler.
